Nurses can soon be in control of a digital realm of patient care.
On November 26, according to WorthPlaying.com, GAMEINVEST is releasing Emergency Hospital-a quick-paced time management and hospital simulation video game in which players direct a new graduate nurse through the obstacles of working in the emergency department. Through seven hospitals-each with nine levels of difficulty-players navigate “Sarah” in caring for every patient that walks through the door by delivering prescriptions, taking x-rays, and assisting in the operating room. Those who play through the narrative discover whether “Sarah” has success in her career as a nurse.
Key features of the game include 3D graphics and the display of multiple onscreen levels in larger hospitals that allow players to have control over several floors at once.
Thinking of taking a stab at it? Emergency Hospital will be available through a number of platforms, including PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, Wii, and PC. Take a look at the screen shots.
Do you think this game would help develop real life nursing skills?

I don’t know about time management games, but I’ve certainly had a breakthrough in that area this year.
I used and taught Covey and Daytimer for many years before reading David Allen’s GTD book and switching to GTD. Its made a significant impact for the good on my business and personal productivity.
And I found an application that allows me to view my entire GTD at work on my Win machine, at home on my Macs and even on my cell phone. And another app lets me call in tasks to my GTD without any writing or typing, great for those thoughts that hit me while driving.
I’ve written about my experiences with GTD at http://johnkendrick.wordpress.com/how-to-gtd/ John

This is an awesome concept. I would love to see the same type of game or software developed for Med/Surg nurses. Thank you for the info!

I like the Hospital Hustle time management game. I do not believe that it increases time management skill but it is definately great for entertainment value.
