Last Semester: The 10 things I’ll miss about college

After a tough time with the job search, I have an offer in a NICU in a community hospital in MA and another interview for a transplant unit at Johns Hopkins in MD! I am so excited! Part of me wants to move and the other part of me wants to stay close to home. I wake up every morning with a little bit more anxiety about the upcoming days. It is crazy how fast my time here at college has gone by. I never thought that I would be this sad to see the end. Now that the end is so close (I graduate in a week and a half), I thought it might be fun to share the top 10 things I will miss about college.

I will miss:

  1. The way the school looks during late springtime. Whenever I think about school, I always picture it during this time of the year with everyone outside, tan, and wearing sun dresses!
  2. Free rides into Boston on the weekends to help encourage safe driving!
  3. The amazing faculty and clinical instructors that I had the pleasure of spending four years with. To all the ones that never let me settle!
  4. All the free time in between classes or having a day off during the week
  5. Clinicals: Even though I had to wake up at 5 in the morning, clinical was a time where mistakes were okay. Now I’m going into the real world and these will be my patients!
  6. Dorm rooms: There is something so awesome about being able to walk in and out of someone’s room where there is always someone there to talk to. People are so accessible in college; you are never alone unless you want to be.
  7. The NSNA: Working hand-in-hand with some amazing people to help better the profession of nursing . . . and the conventions of course!
  8. Nursing school: Even though there were times that I wanted to pull out my hair and times that I cried for hours, I will miss this whole process. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but it was the best thing, too.
  9. My friends: I have made the most amazing friends a girl could ask for. People always say that you meet your friends for life in college, and it is so true. You get to know people on a completely different level because you live with them. You rely so much on them and you don’t even realize it. It is going to be a weird feeling to not live with five other girls. I have had so much fun with them, creating memories I will never forget.
  10. Not being in college: College is so much fun! I can’t even begin to describe how great it has been to me. Along with education (which has been downright amazing), I’ve really enjoyed the school’s community. Don’t get me wrong; I want to grow up and live my life, but I will miss college for sure.

Next week is senior week and I can’t wait! I will fill you in on all the festivities! If some of you are seniors, I hope you are thinking about the top 10 things you will miss about your college.
